Acne

Acne occurs within the sebaceous follicle, the tube-like structure from which hair grows. Sebaceous glands are deep beneath the skin surface. They empty wax-like sebum into the hair follicle, which makes its way to the skin surface. Three primary factors are always involved with an acne lesion, including:

  • Oil/sebaceous material present

  • Normal skin bacteria

  • Retention keratosis with follicle plugging due to decreased exfoliation of the skin surface cells.

Acne can be successfully controlled medically. There are black heads and white heads. The most severe one has constant pustular lesions and  subcutaneously infected tissue. Treating acne earlier can prevent the occurrence of severe acne and lifetime scarring.

Prevention:

  • Daily cleansing can help remove excess sebaceous from the follicle and prevent 90% of breakout.

  • Oil free cosmetics, makeup and moisturizing.

  • Exfoliation/peel, keratosis refers to daily shedding of epidermal cell.  The surface is always present with acne if not exfoliated quickly and these cells clog the pore .

  • Series of facial once a month with deep cleansing ,exfoliating and extraction  are the best control for acne.
